Many participants stayed in town for most of the week and attended pre-organized business meetings and corporate events.
Europulp hopes that guests had a fruitful and interesting time and looks forward to have such a numerous turnout next year as well!

Thimon De Jong Whetston Strategic Foresight

Thimon de Jong is an expert in the strategic business impact of future human behaviour and societal change. He is founder and director of Whetston, a strategic foresight think tank.

He works as a keynote speaker, leadership trainer and workshop facilitator around the world. Over the past ten years he has presented at a variety of large multinationals like Vodafone, Morgan Stanley, Warner, Luxottica, EY, Tetra Pak, Microsoft, Ikea, Adecco, HP & Merck.

Thimon lectures at Utrecht University (social psychology department).

Andrea Boltho Oxford University

Educated in Italy and at the Universities of London (LSE), Paris and Oxford. From 1966 to 1977 at the OECD’s Department of Economics and Statistics. In 1973-74 Japan Foundation Fellow at the Research Institute of the Economic Planning Agency, Tokyo. From 1977 to 2007, Fellow and Tutor in Economics at Magdalen College, University of Oxford. Since 2008 Emeritus Fellow.

At various stages, consultant to the World Bank, member of the Academic Council of the IFO Institute, and Visiting Professor in various European universities. Has been a Member of the Board of Finmeccanica, is a Director of Oxford Economics and author of numerous academic publications.

Brian McClay Brian McClay & Associates, Inc.

Brian McClay is the principal consultant at Brian McClay & Associates Inc., a privately-held pulp and paper competitive intelligence consultancy based in Montreal, Canada.

Brian established the company in 1997 after a long career at the Canadian Pulp and Paper Association (CPPA).

He is also Chairman of Trade Tree Online, a US-based, Price Reporting Agency and a partner in PIG (Pulp Info Global), the smartphone APP for the pulp business.

During 1995-1999 Brian served as Head of Canada’s Delegation to ISO’s Environmental Labeling Subcommittee and he chaired the multi-stakeholder committee that developed the Environmental Profile Data Sheet (EPDS) – the world’s first industrial type-3 Environmental Label.

In 1997 he was a member of Canada’s official delegation to the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) and on Canada’s delegation to the WTO Ministerial Conference.
